@matigo Heh. I saw that. Crazy. Maybe. Maybe after it goes in a bigger box. The case I have it in now I'll be using the 5.25" bay to store 4 2.5" drives. I was thinking about using that 10-bay Century case that you mentioned a few years ago, now that it has eSATA and not just USB :P
@matigo We aren't going to be living here for 35 years, definitely not. Hah. We'll probably start renting it out after 8-10 years.
@matigo Yeah, it's really a bit unbelievable, still. We got around 1% fixed for 35 years.
@matigo It wasn't too bad. Interest is crazily low now, so we may just keep the loan and put our money where it will make more than 1% hah.
Although the person who gave me the board had troubles with it running VMware ESX. I'll be using some form of BSD, probably, but it's not 100% that it'll actually work. Haha.
It's been awhile since I checked in here, so here's some life updates:
- got back safely from my childhood home in Maine
- bought an apartment in Tokyo, moving in the next couple weeks
- need to start building my NAS (all I have is the motherboard and CPU for now. Haha. It's a 8-core Xeon someone gave me :o)
